Girafe - Paris' newest gastronomic seafood experience
Girafe is THE new restaurant in town with an absolutely breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower. It covers the terrace of la Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, which is located at Palais de Chaillot, just by Trocadero. The stunning view combined with an impeccable menu makes it a spot for a meal in Paris.
The Sacrebleu Paris team met up at the new restaurant just last week, and enjoyed a fabulous meal. Upon walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by very poised and professional staff. We originally decided to sit outside on their grand terrace, so that we could enjoy the beautiful view of the tower. The terrace was elegant and spacious, but unfortunately it was almost one hundred degrees out, so we decided to move indoors to enjoy our meal. The staff was very accommodating, and didn't hesitate to move us from outside to indoors.
Laurent de Gourcuff the creator who is also the head of Monsieur Bleu and LouLou is responsible for the making of Girafe and exceeded all of the city's expectations. The interior is very elegantly done with beautiful blush tones and cream marble, but the real standout here is the food.
The restaurant is all based on seafood, or as the french would say “fruits des mers”. The restaurant has truly mastered how to make a gastronomic seafood experience. While there you'll be sure to see big platters of shellfish and pinkish red claws being carried about. We were sure to try a little of everything and recommend their fried cod and red gambas for an appetizer and garlic sauce octopus for an entrée. For those with seafood allergies, they offer a few steak selections. We happened to try their beef filet with a black pepper sauce. It's a great alternative for those with aversions to shellfish.
This new restaurant is definitely has received the pink bow of approval from all of us here at Sacrebleu! It’s a great new addition to the foodie scene, contact us for more info if you’d like to check it out!
